I will let you fill in the blank with whatever words you feel fit. If I had filled in the blank in the headline of this post, I can guarantee you that it would not have been a complimentary adjective to describe Piers Morgan. Suffice to say, I am not a fan of Morgan. There are some people you would like to see get bitch-slapped and he is one of them.
My disdain for Morgan goes back to when he appeared on Celebrity Apprentice. I do not normally watch that show, but I did that season because Trace Adkins was on the show, and I am a big fan of Trace. On the show, Morgan just came across as a pompous ass. Omarosa was also on the show that season and a couple times I thought her and Morgan were going to come to blows. I am pretty sure she would have kicked his ass.
After the tragedy in Connecticut at Sandy Hill Elementary School, Morgan launched his all out attacks against the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution. He has been one of the many liberal voices out there pushing for stricter gun controls. There is nothing that galls me more than foreigners like Morgan and George Soros who come to this country and then proceed to trash us. Here, Ted Nugent schools Morgan on gun control.
So it isn't enough for Morgan to trash our Constitution. Next he goes on to have Pastor Rick Warren on the show to discuss gay rights. During the discussion Morgan goes on to tell Pastor Warren that the Bible needs to be amended to allow for gay marriage and other things that Morgan, in his holier than thou view, are outdated. Morgan actually states that the Constitution and the Bible are "inherently flawed."

Music Monday-Trace Adkins "Then They Do"
My son is home from school for a long weekend. He is supposed to go back to school tomorrow. Having him home is great, but with his disabilities it is often difficult. Life is a bit easier when he is away, but I will miss him terribly.
I think about when he was younger and all the times I would get frustrated at some of his behaviors before we fully grasped the depth of his disabilities. There were times that I could not wait for him to grow up. I think any parent, whether of a special needs child or a "normal" child has thought about wanting their child to grow up. But Then They Do.

Music Monday-Trace Adkins "Just Fishin"
My son and I don't go fishing, but we do a lot of things together. In his mind, we might just be hanging out watching a ball game or playing miniature golf, but in my mind we are building memories and relationships. Happy Music Monday.

Osama bin Laden Killed: Welcome to Hell
As the newscast continued they broke little pieces of the news of the evening, that US Special forces had killed Osama bin Laden, founder and leader of Al-Qaeda. He was killed in a compound in Pakistan not far from a Pakistani military installation. So much for his being holed up in a cave. It also makes one wonder the veracity of the Pakistani claims that they had no idea where bin Laden was.
First, a hearty congratulations and thank you to the Special Ops forces that put their lives on the line to carry out this risky operation. Even better is the fact that they got the SOB is that there were no injuries to our troops. Thanks to our intelligence community for their diligence in pursuing him. Finally, congratulations to the President for ordering the action. I wasn't sure he had the stones to do it.
Normally, it would be inappropriate to rejoice in somebody's death, however, in this case I think it is warranted. As Country music star Blake Shelton tweeted last night when the news broke "Sorry if this seems disrespectful but I'm so glad that piece absolute shit Osama is dead.." While the death of bin Laden is welcome news to those of us who recall the tragedy of 9/11, we must remain vigilant. There remain those who will replace bin Laden and want to avenge his death.
I have posted Trace Adkins song "Welcome to Hell" before. Today it seems appropriate to post it again today. It see,ms appropriate to post it again today in light of the news since Trace wrote the song for Osama bin Laden and his ilk.

Music Monday-Trace Adkins "Brown Chicken Brown Cow"
I am a big Trace Adkins fan. I can say that this is probably not one of my favorite songs by Trace, but it is definitely one of his funniest. I hope you agree. If nothing else, you may never look at the Muppets the same way again.

Music Monday-Trace Adkins "Swing"
Spring training started for Major League Baseball last week. That means spring is just around the corner. In less than two months the baseball season will begin. For my family, that means getting ready to go out to watch this year's version of the Bowie Baysox and the Delmarva Shorebirds, two of the minor league teams in the Baltimore Orioles organization. For that reason, my Music Monday choice will have a baseball flavor to it, Trace Adkins and "Swing."

Music Monday-Trace Adkins "This Ain't No Love Song"
I am a big fan of Trace Adkins. He has a distinctive vocal style. I like his politics. So when I visited CMT.com today to look for videos for Music Monday, I was glad to see a new video from Trace. I had to make it my choice for Music Monday. It is half music video, and half Victoria's Secret commercial. For you guys out there, the video is worth watching just for the model. She is SMOKIN!

Music Monday-Blake Shelton with Trace Adkins "Hillbilly Bone"
This week my choice for Music Monday features two of my favorite current country stars, Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins. There are a couple of reasons why I like this video. First off, it is just fun.
Second, it reminds me a little bit of a black tie dinner I had to attend for work when I was dating my wife. It was one of those fancy dinners where they have tiny food on big plates and the food looks more like a decoration than a meal. A little more than two minutes into the video, they bring Trace and Blake their food. The look on Trace's face pretty much sums up how we looked when we got our plates. After the dinner, we went through the McDonald's drive through to get some food in our stomachs.

Music Monday-Trace Adkins "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk"
After rocking out last week with Damn Yankees, I decided for something a little different this week for Music Monday. Plus, since I just reviewed his book "A Personal Stand," I decided to go country with Trace Adkins and "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk."

Trace Adkins - A Personal Stand
It was not your garden variety, celebrity interview. Sure they touched on Trace's musical career, but for the most part they discussed Trace's views on news and politics. Trace was a straight talking, no nonsense man. I found myself in agreement with a lot of his views.
Fast forward to last night, when I was browsing around the local Barnes & Noble. I was looking in the current affairs section of the store when I spotted "A Personal Stand" by Trace. I was not aware that he had written a book, so I flipped through the chapters and quotes on the back of the book. Since the book was in paperback, I decided to go ahead and make the purchase.
When I read the introduction to the book, I knew I was going to enjoy reading it. In the second paragraph Trace writes the following: "I stand for personal responsibility and against anything undermines it. So much of what I see in our country today represents a hell-bent flight from responsibility to victimhood. From acting on one's convictions to going along just to get along. From making decisions based on moral principals to taking the easy way out. That's not what the United States is about, and that's not the legacy our children should inherit." I could not agree more.
Throughout the book, Trace uses stories from his life to share his views on 9/11, energy, illegal immigration and more. Like his appearance on the Glenn Beck Show that night, he writes in a straight forward, no nonsense style, interjected with a wry sense of humor. As a writer, he isn't going to make anyone forget the great writers of the world. Hell, he may not even make you forget the ordinary ones. However, if you are a fan of Trace Adkins, and your political views tend to lean towards the right, I think you will enjoy the book. I know I did.
