Random Japaneseness/Random Hotness

In addition to the "YouTube is Better than Television" meme that my old friend at the Undercover Blackman blog used to run on a regular basis, there were two other themes that he used to run frequently that I enjoyed, "Random Hotness" and "Random Japaneseness."  The following would fit under either category.

What do you get when you combine an attractive woman showing ample cleavage and leg, a hidden camera, and a stop watch?  Apparently in Japan you get a pretty entertaining television program.  The concept, as best as I can tell, is to film guys walking by the bait, in this case a beautiful woman.  They film them and then time how long they glance, gawk, or stare at the woman. The "winner" would be the person who looks at her the longest.

I really wish that I understood Japanese, because it sounds like a splendid time was had by all.  Even if you don't understand Japanese, which I suspect will be most if not all of my visitors, it is worth watching the clip if only to watch the facial expressions of the guys, and the different ways they sneak a peak.  Oh, and of course the woman helps too,

Talk About Reparations

Reparations.  According to Merriam-Webster, the definition of reparations is the act of making amends, offering expiation, or giving satisfaction for a wrong or injury.  These day, when you here the term, it usually refers to payment for the wrongs of slavery in the US.  However, that is not the subject of this post.

Japanese porn star Anri Suzuki holds a doctorate degree in Sino-Japanese history, so she is no dumb bimbo.  Suzuki feels bad for the actions of Japan against China in 1937 at the start of World War II.  She is offering to make amends in the way she knows best, by offering to have sex with Chinese students in Japan.

When studying the history of the Japanese invasion, she was shocked to learn the things the Japanese did during that time.  Suzuki told the Korean Times, "We have to respect the lessons of history and although we cannot obliterate it we can try and make recompense.  I want to cure the wounds of China with my body, and I offer to do this by having sex with Chinese students in Japan.  I think it would be a symbolic compensation for them."

Now that is what I call "reparations." After thinking about this for a bit, the Japanese did a lot of bad things to Americans back then. 

Something Isn't Right Here

United State Marine Corps Sgt. Michael Ferschke was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.  While there, he met and developed a relationship with a Japanese woman named Hotaru.  Sgt. Ferschke was then deployed to Iraq.  In July of 2008, the couple were married by proxy over the phone.  Sadly, one month later, Sgt. Ferschke was killed.

Prior to their marriage, the couple gave birth to a son.  Now, Hotaru and their son face deportation because the State Department refuses to recognize their marriage as legitimate because the couple was not able to consummate their marriage vows as required by US immigration laws.

Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security has told Sheriff Joe Arpaio that he is to no longer to authorized to make arrests of illegal immigrants.  Sheriff Joe, to his credit vows to continue to seek out and arrest criminals that are in this country illegally.

There is something wrong when our state department on the one hand wants to deport the widow and child of one of our fallen soldiers, then on the other wants to strip our law enforcement officials of the power to arrest those who are entering the country illegally.  One would think that the Department of Homeland Security would want our law enforcement officials to enforce our laws and protect our borders.  I kind of thought that was why the department was created.

Fortunately for Hotaru Ferschke and her son, Senator Jim Webb (D-VA) has introduced a bill that would recognize the marriage of Hotaru and Michael Ferschke.  The bill has some support on both sides of the aisle.  Members of the House have also introduced legislation to help the widow.  Please write to your Senators and Congressman asking them to support Senator Webb's legislation.
